How long does the course last?
The course lasts about 2 hours, so in 2 to 3 evenings you’ll have watched the course and gone through/completed the handouts.
What if I have questions during the course?
If you have any questions during the course, you can always discuss them with your midwife later. She knows you best and is therefore best placed to answer your questions. So please make a note of any questions you have. They may even be covered later on in the course.
What if I’m not satisfied with the course?

Can I involve my partner in the course?
Absolutely! In fact, we recommend that you take the course together with your partner, so that you’re both well prepared and know what to expect during labour.
When is the best time to start the course?
Most women start around 30–32 weeks’ pregnancy. That way, the information is still fresh in your mind, but you still have plenty of time to prepare at your own pace.
Is this course suitable if I want to give birth in hospital?
The course covers both home and hospital births.
Can I take the course if I have medical complications?
Scenarios such as induction and caesarean sections are also covered. Discuss with your healthcare provider which preparation is suitable for your medical situation.
Are medical pain relief options discussed?
Yes. Geke discusses ways of managing pain, both with and without medication.
Are there practical checklists included in the course?
Yes, there are several practical checklists included, such as for packing your hospital bag, drawing up a birth plan and what you can prepare in the final weeks of your pregnancy.
Will I still have access to the course material afterwards?
